Working from home has become the norm. I think it can be seen as a blessing and curse. A blessing that you get to rock the “business mullet”…you know professional up top and pajama pants below… but also a curse in that you are at your desk ALL DAY for endless meetings which means a sedentary lifestyle, aka LESS MOVEMENT.

Your mindset is the self-preceptions of beliefs that you hold about yourself, and that can be so powerful! Your mindset is going to determine your behavior, outlook, and mental attitude about your life.

Mindset is the first, and most important step in your health and wellness journey! You have to shift your perspective on health and wellness from “temporary fixes” to “this is my lifestyle”. Sounds simple enough, right? However, the health and wellness industry is saturated with so many quick fixes and fad diets that are designed to keep you on the hamster wheel of dieting, because that’s how they make their money. Starting a weight loss journey can be overwhelming! Figuring out where to start or what to do can be stressful enough to make many people give up before they even begin. My best piece of advice for those beginning and feeling overwhelmed is to KEEP IT SIMPLE, and just start stepping!

Walking is considered low-intensity steady-state cardio, also known as LISS. LISS is any form of cardio exercise where you are able to maintain the same level of low-intensity pace for a set period of time. It is perfect for those new to fitness. It will help you establish the routine of daily movement without having to have a gym membership.

This little stretching and mobility series will take you less than 10 minutes, and does not require yoga pants or even leaving your desk. I love completing this series when I am stuck at my desk for hours. I always feel a bit more focused and energized after I am done!
